My name is Arjen Schalker. I am a saxophone player, teacher and repairman. I studied classical saxophone with Karel Bruin at the Alkmaar conservatory, and jazz with Jan Menu and Jasper Blom at the Sweelinck Conservatory, in Amsterdam.
I play in various bands ranging in style from jazz and funk through to the traditional saxophone quartet.
The reason I started to repair saxophones was was born out of necessity. As a student it saved me money and I noticed that I enjoyed doing it!
After nine years of work experience in the workshop of a good friend (Alfred Verhoef), I got the opportunity to start my own business. This happened in May 2001.
Since then the shop has grown, and I now also supply reeds, mouthpieces and sheet music.

I sell new and secondhand (vintage) instruments, from brands like Selmer, Buffet Crampon, Altus, Pearl, Yanagisawa and Yamaha.
I also offer more specialized models for the connoisseurs such as Selmer Balanced, Super Balanced or Mark VI instruments.
